SANTA CRUZ al SALVADOR is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2001. It is made up of “member” churches, of which Christ Lutheran is one. Along with the other "member churches," Christ Lutheran sends delegates to El Salvador.

The primary objectives and purpose of SC al Salvador are the solicitation, collection, and possession of charitable donations from Santa Cruz County and any other location for distribution in, or for the benefit of, the country of El Salvador to those organizations and individuals needing charitable assistance. Santa Cruz al Salvador connects Monterey Bay Area faith communities with communities in El Salvador, enhancing and enriching the lives of all participants. This mission is guided by the philosophy of accompaniment — walking together in solidarity, resulting in interdependence and mutual respect.
